 Walkabout along the River Clyde

Walkabout along the River Clyde

This week started off with 2 rare and much needed days off!  On Monday, Melinda took a long walkabout into the city Centre enjoying the walking/cycle path along the River Clyde while I stayed in and laid low before meeting her in the city at Five Guys for dinner.

Hamburgers here are a bit different than we are used to in the States, but Five Guys --- Five Guys burgers are the real deal. Whether in Scotland or in the States, Five Guys Burgers and Fries are Five Guys Burgers and Fries! It was a wee taste of home.

Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park

Our friends Iain and Colette fetched us on Tuesday for an all day wander about Loch Lomond and the Torssachs National Park. It was a stunning day. The weather here has been incredible - a big deviation from the normal wet and rainy Scotland that everyone is accustomed to. We had rain yesterday for the first time in over 3 weeks. Today, the sun is back!

Here are some photos from our day out just so you can catch a glimpse of God's creativity and handiwork.

Odds and Ends During the Week

We've had the privilege of sitting in on some inner healing appointments while we've been here. Saorsa, as I mentioned previously, is the Gaelic word for "freedom."  The team here at Whiteinch was the first Bethel Sozo trained team in the nation. Over the years and with the blessing of the Bethel Sozo leaders in the States, they have adapted the concepts and tools to better fit here in Scotland. They also changed the name.

We're also continuing to be part of the SHAPE course that I mentioned in our last blog.  This past week, we were part of the ministry team praying for those in the class who wanted to receive the baptism and gifts of the Holy Spirit.  What a fun night!

On Thursday, we traveled with Shona to Edinburgh for a speaking engagement which was part of a leadership development course. In the afternoon, we attended a prophetic gathering led by a couple visiting from Kansas City.  It was so affirming and encouraging for us to hear them speak about some of the same tools God has been revealing to us as a ministry. God is definitely on the move!

 Ready to Worship at GPC

Ready to Worship at GPC

Sunday morning, we had the honour and the privilege of leading worship for a weekly gathering of the core leaders at The Glasgow Prophetic Centre.  There is something "other" and indescribable about leading a group of people who are already very comfortable with God's manifest presence and who are quick to passionately engage. It's like leading worship for a group of worship leaders. There's nothing like it. It was a great honour to serve them.

I titled the blog "Deepening" because that is the word that describes where we are on this trip. The goal has been to explore opportunities and build relationships. This we are doing in even greater measures than we had anticipated. What we are finding is that God has already gone before us in this process. He has been linking things together and coordinating "coincidences" that are too many and too obvious to ignore.  It's been such an easy fit all around.

Our love for the land is deepening, and even more so, our love for the people.  We are especially at home with Whiteinch Church of Scotland, and particularly with Whiteinch Transformation and Healing for the Heart.  As conversations continue, we are seeing more of what our fit could be here in the long term. Not only that, we are also seeing God refine and clarify what it is that we carry.  We are seeing what is on us and in us in ways that we were unable before.  We are seeing not just good ideas, but we are seeing great potential and clearer direction. Thank you to those of you who have been praying for this. Please continue as there are still many details to be sorted.

There is still something for us to do in the States. This we know. However, we are seeing a long term plan here in Scotland develop. We are grateful for the family and the home base that God is establishing around us here and we are so excited to see the long term relationship take shape.

Tune in next week as the journey continues....
